On day 1 you will cruise to Green Island on the ‘Big Cat’ a modern air-conditioned 115ft catamaran. Green Island is the only coral cay in the Great Barrier Reef to feature a rain forest which makes it very unique. It’s almost impossible to be disappointed with its white sandy beach and abundance of coral and marine life. If you’re looking for something a little different you also have the choice of taking a self guided walk along one of the many tracks leading through the National Park. Activities for the kids include a tour of the"Big Cat’ Wheelhouse, membership to the Turtle Rescue Club, and a colouring in/activity sheet Hire of canoes, beach umbrellas, sun lounges, surf skis, beach volleyball gear, stand-up paddle boards, wet-suits and flotation aids can be arranged on the island. On Day 2 you will travel to Kuranda on the famous Kuranda Scenic Railway. This amazing train ride will take you on a journey through a lush green paradise before arriving at Kuranda Station. Throughout the course of the journey you will view dense rainforests,steep ravines and flowing waterfalls as well the Barron Gorge which offers spectacular views of Cairns. You will be seated in a Heritage Class carriage for the duration of your ride. The Heritage Class carriages offer old world charm in the design and decor. They are made of authentic timber, and may be up to 90 years old. Upon arrival at Kuranda you will have plenty of time to enjoy your natural surrounds. Your tour includes admission to the Rainforestation Nature Park when you can experience a rainforest tour in an amphibious Army Duck. You can also visit the koala and wildlife park, as well as see a show performed by the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers and wander down the Dreamtime Walk. You return journey to Cairns will be on-board the Kuranda Skyrail, a unique rainforest experience taking you on an unforgettable journey over one of Australia’s World Heritage Listed Tropical Rainforest. You will soar above the rainforest in a six-person gondola cabin which provides uninterrupted views of the Kuranda region, Cairns, the Coral Sea and the lush highlands. The Skyrail experience runs 7.5kms long and features two mid-station platforms where you can step out of your gondola and take time to learn more about this fascinating environment surrounding you by participating in a Ranger-guided boardwalk tour and by taking a visit to the Rainforest Interpretation Centre.
