32121 No doubt, the Great Barrier Reef experience that this tour offers was a highlight of my whole Australian holiday. The paddle board and surfing activity was also lots of fun, although this was an additional $50 each to take part. Another fun activity that was free with this tour was the ‘Turtle watching’ which was an unforgettable experience. We also visited a zoo which was OK (imagine Australia zoo 15 years ago) Whilst there were amazing experiences to be had on this trip, there was also some downsides that you should consider before booking this trip 1. You spend a lot of time travelling by a not so glamorous coach, so have snacks ready 2. Some activities, like surfing, are additional extras and payment is demanded as soon as you say you are interested. At the end of the 3 days trip, I was under the impression that the tour guide/company is keen to take as much money as possible. On this matter, I think the tour is overpriced for accommodation (discussed in point 3), and you may want to look at booking these activities independently or booking through a cheaper company 3. This was perhaps the biggest issue with this trip, and had I known, I wouldn’t have booked this tour. If you select multi-share accommodation, be prepared to be sharing with anybody, regardless of gender or preference. Myself and my partner were sharing with 2 males who did not speak the same language and who we had only seen on our tour a few hours prior. This felt extremely awkward and uncomfortable. Myself and my partner managed to get the 1 private bedroom in the dorm we shared with the other two individuals. This was not very private as the door doesn’t lock from the outside so when we decided to leave for tea and the two individuals stayed in the dorm, our room door was left open with all our valuables inside (There was no safe, to name one of the many missing facilities). After discussing with other guests, we discovered we were lucky to get a private room, as the others were sharing a bed!!! How are you expected to share a bed with someone of a different gender who you do not know!! Even in my dorm, one of the two individuals slept on the sofa as he didn’t want to share a bed with his friend of the same gender.. He paid all that money to sleep on a sofa!? I immediately raised this issue with the tour guide, stating I felt uncomfortable with sleeping and showering in the presence of total strangers and had not paid all this money to feel like this (I was crying at this point). I was told that if I wanted to change room, I would have to pay an additional $400 and little sympathy was given (bringing me back to my earlier point about money grabbing!!). I refused as, for what the accommodation actually is, that amount of money was extortionate! The whole resort was something you would find in a summer holiday camp in a rundown seaside town. Whilst the activities were good on this tour, the accommodation/sleeping arrangements were the definitely the worst part of this trip and my whole holiday. Therefore, I would not book this tour, or any other tour like this again. I was ‘reassured’ that ‘no problems had ever occurred’ with the sleeping arrangements, but is it worth the risk? No is the answer…

54321 Such an amazing experience, Harry our tour guide was so knowledgeable and helpful! Well worth the money, zoo was amazing, the accommodation was much more than we expected and the island tour was great! Just wish we had slightly longer at the island!

32121 The reef part of the trip was absolutely amazing and I would 100% do that again. However, I believe it would be much better to just do the Lady Musgrave Experience instead of the whole thing. The tour guide was extremely rude to all of the passengers, especially the passengers from Taiwan because they had trouble understanding him. He was also EXTREMELY rude when one of the passengers forgot their phone at a location. A good amount of the activities that we did were actually free to do around Bundagberg and you’re basically paying $300 for like 5 meals and two nights in a small resort. I didn’t think it was worth the money, but I did have a lot of fun despite Harry being so rude to everyone and how expensive it was for the cheap activities.

54321 It was an overall amazing experience. All the activities were amazing and the extra surf class on the last day was fun! Harry was a lovely guide who made sure we would see kangaroos on the drive. All ages were represented in the tour and it was amazing for everybody

54321 Exceptional Value for your money! Our Guide Harry was not only a professional driver and informative tour guide, he is also a great cook. Our 3 day/2 night tour had many extras- visit to zoo holding a python, petting a koala, feeding Kangaroos; plus visits to local Ohana Winery and Bundaberg Ginger beer distillery. This tour is one of few that includes the chance to be part of turtle research- we watched scientists ultrasound a female loggerhead laying eggs at night on the beach. Amazing. And LadyMusgraveExperience boat tour to reef is very well done. Big boat;, great lunch, excellent crew on board look after you while explaining the magic of the reef. Harry also gave us the tip to take our Motion Sickness tablets the night before our trip- no one had a problem. Loved our roomy clean a/c villa at Kellys Resort. Great spot. Highly recommend

54321 Our 3 day tour to Bundaberg an Lady Musgrave island inkluded many activities which gave us a lot of memories. Swinging with a big turtle, seeing a turtle placing 100 eggs in a hole in the beach at 8 am when it is dark and the sky is full of stars. Walking on the shore of the island which is made up of old corals during perhaps milion years.

43211 It was a pretty enriching trip. My one compliant is that the film played while in transit, Kangeroo Jack, was truly awful. Other than that everything was beautiful.
Joshua — 30 August, 2018

54321 This was such a wonderful trip! My tour leader’s name is Harry and he was absolutely fantastic. The trip is nicely laid out. You get enough time to relax and do your own thing while also experiencing many activities throughout the day, I never felt rushed. Everything is taken care of once you step on the bus. The day on the boat/at Lady Musgrave was such an amazing experience, I’ll be remembering my trip with ReefFree for years to come and will definitely book another tour with them! I also was dairy free, vegetarian and they were excellent at accommodating me and making the same meals as the others, but that has dairy free “butter” or cheese or veggie patties. Harry even found some desserts that suited my dietary restrictions. Just be sure to let them know when you book. A big thanks to Harry and Danny for a great experience!
Gabrielle — 10 January, 2018

54321 Was indeed very good. The tour is conducted in a professional manner and a lot of thought has gone into making the Island/snorkelling tour absolutely safe and environmentally friendly. The tour was also pretty educational and just not a pleasure trip. Very good value for money.
chander — 15 December, 2015

43211 The only downside on the trip was the very long travel times to Agnes Waters, we arrived with just a short time before dinner, our reef trip was rough out and all were seasick as no pills were available from rep so on the boat was too late to be effective, however we all recovered and had a magical day with an excellent crew with the Colorful owner as well.what we all agree is that an extra day to spend at the resort would make it perfect as day three was all day traveling with a few stops. The extra cost would be worth it.
