Sail through the Whitsundays on the British Defender: the most modern of our Maxi Fleet. British Defender competed in the Whitbread Around the World Yacht Race, before relocating to the Whitsundays.
There are 74 islands in the Whitsundays, however we think that the best part is that 66 of the islands are still in their natural state with no major building developments. All this means is that sailing around the Whitsundays is still a relative voyage of discovery! The islands are pristine and still look very much as they did when Captain Cook sailed through and named them in June 1770.
On many of the islands, coral reefs grow right from the beach which is really good if you are nervous about snorkelling, because you can walk in from the beach and the coral reefs are just metres in. We are confident the photos you take on your Whitsunday tour will be highlights in your photo collection, whether the images are beaches, islands, sunsets, coral reefs or marine life.
