Embark on a flight to Lady Elliot Island which promises spectacular views of the Great Barrier Reef. At the island, meet your friendly, knowledgeable guides and set off to explore; keep your eye out for dense mangrove pockets, beautiful nesting birds and the century-old active lighthouse.

43211 “ Fabulous Day- well worth it. Staff were incredible and the experiences were unforgettable. I would have loved to stay a few more hours. Maybe flights back to the main land could leave a little later. Also, I felt the Itinerary posted on the website was a little miss leading. I expected more guided snorkelling (but in reality we had 20 minutes on the glass bottom boat and 25 minutes snorkelling. All other snorkelling was on your own. I asked to do the snorkelling Safari but it was on at the same time as the glass bottom boat so I could not do both 🙁 All in all, a great day. I highly recommend it. ”

54321 “ Fantastic day out. We had not been to Lady Elliot before, and also took our UK visitors. For them it was a real blast, and they got to swim with turtles twice, four and then six of them, and will talk about that for years. For us, it was nice to be able to snorkel from a beach instead of a boat, and the coral and marine life were definitely healthy and abundant, although we did expect a little more colour in the coral. Cassie, the booking agent, was very helpful and obliging, and the whole trip was very well organised from start to finish. The food is basic but delicious, and the resort could do with an update, but these things are minor considerations when you look at the big picture, of a beautiful flight in and out to a tropical paradise, combined with such a unique and memorable experience. Five stars. ”

43211 “ Very well organised. Flights were smooth and ran to time. Snorkeling on one side does depend on the tide but you can still snorkel on the other at any time (so the comment about coordinating flights is in accurate.) Had a great glass bottom trip and snorkel with good information from the guide and managed to swim with 3 turtles! We thought the food was lovely. A good selection from make your own sandwiches to hot meals. Tea and coffee and water provided other drinks need to be paid for. Resort was good. It had everything you could need although I couldn’t imagine staying longer than a night if I was to stay over. 4 stars only because it was a bit pricey. ”

43211 “ Five stars for being able to swim with turtles! We were lucky though, because if we’d have hung around, we’d have missed all snorkelling in the Lagoon. Coordinating flight times with tides would ensure people get a full day in the water. Resort looked a bit tired, but that added to the feel I think. Stunning views and excellent flight in and home. ”

32121 “ We enjoyed the flight and amazing view of Lady Elliot Island from the air. We were there at low tide and enjoyed the guided reef walk and the numerous terns. However we were disappointed with the snorkelling as there weren’t many fish and only 3 turtles at a distance, so no swimming with turtles as advertised. The buffet lunch was very disappointing and the resort not at all luxurious. Limited changing facilities and toilets. ”

32121 “ Not very well organised, apparently you had to book on separately for the extras such as glass bottom boat. Admittedly we were late getting back to pick up point but if we were told it was leaving from beach we could have just stayed instead of walking back. Didn’t appreciate myself and friend being shouted at by lady guide, the fact I was older was extremely disrespectful. I had requested a GF meal, no main meal available for buffet, asked Michaela the chef if the risotto had gluten in and her reply was ‘I haven’t put anything with gluten in it’. Does not help as the risotto rice could have and didn’t bother going to check. So all I had was potatoes, boiled vegetables and cold chicken. Considering how amazing the food was on the Fraser Island tour and how helpful our guide was then with the price of this tour I wouldn’t recommend reeffree for Lady Elliot and would book flight directly, very disappointed. You can book a direct flight from $350 so the extra $79 for rubbish lunch options and a quick tour and short shrift from the guide not worth it. ”

54321 “ A day we will never forget! The experience of Lady Elliot was something we will never forget. To swim with Turtles, Manta Rays, Reef Sharks and so many more sea life was amazing. The reef is some of the best reef i have seen. My only suggestion to the coordinators on the island would be to have more boat trips available out on the glass bottom boat. Only having 1 hour to snorkel off the boat and then 1 hour to snorkel in the lagoon due to the tides was not as much as we would of hoped for on a day trip. If the glass bottom boats were available all day long for as long as you wanted, i would be back there at every chance possible. ”

54321 “ Booking with reef free ride is going great , they are super responsive, and it is possible to manage all mail ( handy when you have not an Australian phone). Day on Lady Elliot is magic , arrives by plane on the runway and then discovering the island, and that’s part for a little snorkeling , and fluke we met a dolphin who came and s’ fun with us . Buffet on the correct island and will, swimming makes you hungry . after twelve o’clock swim on both sides of the island meeting with turtles. One regret we must already start from this little corner of Paradise, if it were to do again I will take two days and one night on the island. ”
